I love a travel week. Friday night we began our travels back to Maimi. The next few months we are making the drive every two weeks from Oneida County NY to Miami-Dade County FL. Going from country home to RV resort. An opportunity for a change in weather and family on both ends go the east coast. I appreciate the fact that we can work remotely for a few weeks.
So this week I work on my driving photography and testing some video apps. it is always a challenge to capture the view and pull off a great photo when your speeding down the highway. Using the dashboard as a way to steady the phone is helpful (as long as the roads not bumpy). I thought about using a small tripod but way to cumbersome for the truck and by the time its set up the photo I wanted is long gone!
A few tips I have discovered when snapping as we are flying down the highway
- Keep live photo setting on- when I took the skillshare class McManus suggested turning this off but I appreciate the flexibility of moving the frame when speeding down the highway.
2. If you have time, start taking the photo before you are on top of your target, take the picture . For example we saw a beautiful flag coming up, I took about 15 shots as we approached the target. I put it into gallery below. I have some favorites and was surprised how It looked when I zoomed.

3. Take many pictures, using all the lenses, 2.5, 1 and .5, this gives you all options when it comes to editing.
4. Put aside a day to go through pictures, really look at them, and organize! in folders or albums. if you do not make this part of the routine your cloud files will quickly fill up.
5. Delete photos that you do not love or plan on using. Pick a few favorites and do not be afraid to delete!
Here are my highlights!
What I learned this week –work on my close up photography. There is an app to help us iphone 12 users to do macro photography i may try next week, but this week I used my 2.5 lens and tried to get close to the object. After reading some articles i made sure I had good lighting, steady hand and physically got close. Then brought them in for editing!
How I was creative this week – videos! I had fun creating videos, I used snapchat filters, voice editing apps, Magisto, picplaypost, adobe rush and inshot. I’ll explain the new apps below. I’ll be posting a few of them this upcoming week. I will not be getting any awards but it was fun to be a different kind of creative.
Quote of the week – “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.” Saint Augustine
What I listened to this week – Podcasts Goal Digger with over 540 episodes it will take me some time to catch up. Stuff you should know Podcast, because random knowledge about slugs is fun.
App/s I have explored – Video Voice Editor app and Voloco. i downloaded these to test voice changing for my videos. video Voice editor was easier to use the Voloco. Though it looked like Voloco had more options. They were fun but I wont be keeping them. I guess I am not ready to expand to the video world.
i would love to here from you if I inspired you to try something new!
